June Choe

Engineering Team Lead

I am a software engineer based in sunny San Diego, CA. I’ve worked on a variety of web applications using technologies like ReactJS, Typescript, and NodeJS, and I love to learn new skills. Before diving into software development, I worked in the education and business consulting sectors, which I found to be fulfilling. However, my passion for technology and problem-solving drew me to software engineering, and I've been hooked ever since. I really enjoy the creative and intellectual challenges that come with building great software. I’m deeply passionate about promoting educational equity and leveraging technology for social good. When I’m not coding, you can find me building legos, discovering new books in the local library, or biking around the gorgeous outdoors of San Diego

I am a software engineer in SoCal, specializing in full-stack web development. I am the founder of “Code n’ Coffee”, a coding meetup group in Glendale, CA. I have worked on many projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS and built websites using server-less technology such as NextJS, Gatsby and graphQL APIs. When I’m not coding, I like doing activities such as hiking, jumping rope, traveling, and learning new skills. I believe a better future starts with children’s literacy.

I am a lifelong visual artist, an educator, a carpenter, traveller, new FullStack software engineer, sometimes axe thrower, guitar player/ guitar painter, and small business owner. I am transitioning out of teaching after almost 14 years teaching mostly art to elementary students. I want a new challenge and the flexibility of hybrid or remote work. I am volunteering with the American Youth Literacy Foundation because I am inspired by the goals the organization has in mind and also to learn more as a budding engineer as I move into my new career.
I look forward to being a part of the FUNetix team and to helping wherever I can.
